Suggest a Good Printer ? How often to use a Printer ?

I've heard that you need to use the printer every day to prevent its ink from drying out..is that true ..and if it isnt how often should i be usin a printer to keep it welll off....i'll basically use it for printing my project materials and photos too.. i too would like to know which printer is good both color and B&W, ..suggest any..(no laser printers.)no budgets..
